Extracting Honey

Here's how the extracting process works. After we get the bees out of the supers we bring them in to be extracted. Here's Alex bringing over a frame to be un capped.

Next we take the wax cappings off the honey with a knife.

The cappings are caught in the screen on top of the bucket and allowed to drain. The wax cappings are then melted down and reused or sold. Next the frames go into the extractor.

The frames are spun inside the extractor and the force slings the honey out of the cells. The honey then drains down the sides of the extractor and is filtered through a fine mesh screen and collected in buckets.

The honey then sits over night to allow any air bubbles rise out of the honey. Then it is bottled.

And that's it! Nothing added, nothing taken away. Pure local honey straight from the bees to you! Enjoy!
